The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1Er Cru Les Groseilles, which comes from 70-year-old vines, had a little more ripeness on the nose than the Gruenchers that flirted with sur-maturit? – touches of dates and prune filtering through the black fruit. They palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, a little rustic compared to the Les Gruenchers with a grippy and quite assertive finish. It needs to muster more finesse by the time it is in bottle.
